- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, and then the cheese mixture. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a layer of sautéed vegetables.
- Make the lasagna a day in advance for enhanced taste.
