Salted Caramel Cake

A rich and delicious salted caramel cake that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and salted caramel sauce.
  5. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, drizzle additional salted caramel sauce on top before serving.
  • You can add sea salt on top for a added flavor contrast.
