  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Shape the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Use your thumb to create an indentation in the center of each ball.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
  9. Let cookies cool completely before filling.
  10. For the filling, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  11. Spoon the cream cheese filling into the center of each cookie.
