Pomegranate Braised Short Ribs

A delicious recipe for tender short ribs braised in pomegranate juice.

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the short ribs on all sides.
  4. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  5. Pour in pomegranate juice, thyme, and balsamic vinegar, and bring to a simmer.
  6. Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Braise for 3 hours.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
