  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add onions and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and brown them on all sides.
  4. Stir in the mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, white wine, and mustard; stir well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  8. Cover and bake for 1 hour, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
