  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once cooled, use a small knife to cut out the center of each cupcake and fill it with raspberry jam.
  7. Top with whipped cream and drizzled red food coloring to resemble blood.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra spooky touch, use black food coloring for the whipped cream.
