  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 2 cups buttercream frosting
  • 1 package gummy worms
  • 1 package chocolate tombstone cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just blended.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Let the cake cool before frosting it with buttercream.
  7. Crumble Oreo cookies over the top of the frosted cake.
  8. Decorate with gummy worms and chocolate tombstones.

Notes

  • For added spookiness, you can use food coloring in the frosting.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance.
