- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar (for custard)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (for topping)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Add the cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. Press into a tart pan.
- Bake the tart shell for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- In a saucepan, heat milk and heavy cream. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Slowly pour in the warm cream mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.

- Chill the tart for a few hours or overnight.
