  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and water.
  3. Place the beef short ribs in a roasting pan and pour the marinade over them.
  4. Cover the pan with foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3 hours.
  5. After 3 hours, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Roast for an additional 30 minutes to caramelize the ribs.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
