Caramelized Leek and Mushroom Gruyere Pasta

A rich and flavorful pasta dish combining the earthiness of mushrooms and the sweetness of caramelized leeks, topped with melted Gruyere cheese.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 leeks, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add leeks and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add mushrooms and garlic to the skillet, sauté until mushrooms are softened.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Mix in the cooked pasta and shredded Gruyere cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and everything is combined.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle fresh herbs such as thyme or parsley before serving.
  • Make sure leeks are well cleaned to remove any grit.
