  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the diced apples, then pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Drizzle some caramel sauce over the batter, then add the remaining batter on top.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving with more caramel sauce drizzle.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, use cinnamon in the batter.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
